There are two unequivocal facts about life. The first is that life is beautiful, and the second is that that same life is excruciatingly hard.  On one end of the spectrum we are blessed with this thing called life. We are innately born with the ability to dream anything we want. On the other end of the spectrum is the fact that those dreams are the same things that make this life difficult.

What we learn growing up is that life is a playground. We learn that everything is possible if we want it bad enough. We, as a culture, are taught that this world is a place where dreams come true if we dream big enough. When the harsh reality is that life a vicious battleground and most us will never make it out alive. Life is relentless and it weighs on you and takes the fight right out of you. And before you know it, you are another statistic in this battleground called life. At some point you realize that those dreams that make life beautiful cost too much: too much time, too much effort and too much damn work. But you never stop for a second to realize that the cost of not working your ass of for those dreams is a lifetime of regret.

In this thing called life, there are winners and there are losers. Winners understand this battlefield. They understand the work it takes to get what they want and they are willing to do everything possible to get it. They are relentless and they will rip your face off in a minute if needed. Winners are ferocious hunters! They are 100% committed to destroying everybody and everything on that field. They see no obstacles, only opportunities. They seize the moment and they own every minute of it by working their asses off day in and day out. Not for days or months; they do that for years and years until they become an unstoppable force. And they know that during those years they will suffer defeat after heartbreaking defeat. But it’s what they do after getting their hearts ripped out that separates them from the pack. They keep going. Winners fail every day, but they shake it off and get after it because they have GRIT!

Winners know they only have one shot at this thing called life so they do everything possible to make it a life worth living. They don’t sit back and wait for life and opportunities to come knocking. They kick the damn door down with a vengeance and they do the damn work. They work until it becomes a habit. From building these habits, they develop these killer instincts. And with those killer instincts they become extraordinary people.

Losers don’t want to do what it takes. They’re scared to get their hands dirty. They think they’re still in kindergarten on that kiddy playground. They never learned that the minute they wake up, they are actually setting foot on the most violent theater  of war ever! So they go trough life purely to exist. And because of that they never try hard enough to see the beauty of failing. They have never suffered the agony of defeat and they sure as hell will never experience the thrill of a hard fought victory. They don’t understand that success takes years of hard work and that every day is an opportunity to be better. So they get trapped in a life of mediocrity because  their “Cant’s” and their “Wont’s” become the reality of their lives. And the minute they set foot on this battleground they are destined for failure.

Life is what you make of it. Be a force! Have an impact and become part of history. If you don’t write your own story, history will be a cruel son of a bitch to you.

You have two choices in life: you either get eaten alive on this battleground or you rip people’s faces off. And if you even have the audacity to ask yourself what type of person you are, you better hit the ground running.

“Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if need be, taken by the strong.” Edgar Allan Poe
